3. Ngarai Sianok

Sianok canyon is a steep valley (cliff) that located in the border town of Bukittinggi, the Koto IV district, Agam regency, West Sumatra. On the road from Bukittinggi to Payakumbuh these caves extend deep into the mountainside. The domains of thousands of bats, which we won't see but only, hear and sense as they fly close over our head. At the main entrance is a stone with an outline of an elephant visible on its face. The coolness and damp air is refreshing after the tropical heat outside. The path through these caves leads out to the top of the mountain from where it is quite panoramic. The drive up to the hillside itself is worth making because of the variety of the exquisite views along way.

6. Harau Valley

Harau Valley or  sometimes called the Arau valley is the place where lush green ricefields are hemmed in between huge granite cliffs. There are dozens of waterfalls tumble down from 80 to 300 meters height into the valley below, cutting by the Batang Arau River. No wonder, that the Harau Valley is sometimes known as the Yosemite of Indonesia. Gibbons and Macaques and variety of wildlife is still roam freely as this area in the Lima Puluh Kota district that has actually been designated a nature conservation, covering some 669 acres. This place is truly has beautiful landscape, peaceful serenity that only interrupted by the calls of the macaques and the chirping birds.

7. Adityawarman Museum

The beach of Bungus bay and its white sands is good for swimming, boating or just watching the fishing boats going out to sea in the afternoon. 9. Diatas and Dibawah Lakes (Solok)

The name of Twin Lakes is taken from the two lakes, Danau Atas and Danau Bawah that located side by side, which is only about 300 meters long. The first area is known as a tourist attraction because it is located on the edge of the highway Padang-Muaralabuh-Kerinci. Danau Diatas has 17.20 square meters, 6.25 km length and 2.75 km wide, the water surface is at an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level. The lake is quite shallow, the deepest part is only 44 meters.

10. Lembah Anai Waterfall

One of many tourist destinations in there was a small town located in Minangkabau Highlands, called Bukittinggi. There is waterfall was located in a valley on Tanah Datar regency, Padang, called Anai Valley or “Lembah Anai”, which was why the waterfall was called Lembah Anai Waterfall.According to some local people there, there were two other waterfalls aside the waterfall by the main road, but to reach the other two, travelers need more stamina and preparation because those two other waterfalls were located deep inside a natural reserve forest above the first waterfall, and there was no path built for tourists there, yet. But it might have been prettier and the atmosphere was also more tranquil than in the first waterfall.

11. Pariangan/Belimbing

It is situated on the slopes of Mt. Merapi, thought to be the cradle of the Minangkabau culture. This historical village still reflects the pure social structure of the Minangkabau conception of a village. A mosque, a council house and traditional houses with rice-barns form the nucleus of the village.

Puncak Lawang is a peak plateau in Agam District, West Sumatra. From this place, we can see the blue Maninjau Lake. Puncak Lawang is located in Matur sub-district, Agam regency, West Sumatra. This peak is in the same area to Lake Maninjau. From this point, we can see the whole view of Lake Maninjau.

14. Jam Gadang Bukittinggi

The Clock Tower of Bukittinggi or Jam Gadang is the landmark of Bukittinggi and West Sumatra in Indonesia. The typical symbol of West Sumatra also has a story and unique because has been already decades years ago. Jam Gadang was built in 1926 by architect Yazin and Sutan Gigi Ameh. Laying the first stone, the Clock Tower was carried out Rook Maker's first son who was then 6 years old. This clock is a gift from the Queen of the Netherlands to Controleur (Secretary of State).Distinctive symbols Bukittinggi and West Sumatra's has a story and uniqueness in its history. It can be traced from the ornaments on the Clock Tower. In the Dutch colonial period, this ornament clock round and on it stands a statue of a rooster.During the Japanese occupation, ornaments the clock turned into a pagoda. While in the period after independence, the ornament shape again changed to the shape gonjong traditional Minangkabau house.The numbers on the clock are also unique. The number four in Roman numerals are usually written by IV, but at the Jam Gadang is listed with IIII.From the tower of Jam Gadang, the tourists can see the panorama of Bukittinggi city is composed of hills, valleys and buildings lined up in the middle of the city not to be missed.

15. Sitinurbaya Bridge

Gunung padang/ padang mountain actually is a hill, which are famous with jembatan sitinurbaya/ sitinurbaya bridge, and the grave of sitinurbaya herself. Sitinurbaya is a legend, which are lives among padang citizen. She famous because of her did to refuse to get married with datuak maringgih, the man that her parent want to become her husband. It is the tradition in minangkabau about parent to arrange the man for their doughter to marry with, so in that time no dating.The sitinurbaya bridge is one of the tourism areas in padang. Locate in south of padang city, about 1 KM, is so easy to reach from downtown by using public transportation or taxi. This tourism destination will crowded in the afternoon till evening with people for enjoying the mouth of the arau river view while eating corn bake or banana bake. Grave of sitinurbaya was laying on slope of gunung padang/ padang mountain, which are have a wonderfull view of the sea.

16. Grand Mosque of West Sumatra

The most distinctive feature of the mosque is its roof form, a contemporary interpretation of the traditional roof of the Minangkabau vernacular houses. The shape of the roof is also meant to symbolize the cloth that was held by the four clan leaders of the Quraysh tribe by its corners to lift the Black Stone to the current spot in Mecca. The roof frame is constructed of steel pipes, supported by four curving concrete columns17. Gandoriah BeachGandoriah beach is located in Pariaman district, the City of Sala Lauak. Gandoriah beach is about 60 km from the city of Padang, this beach is typical of white sandy beach with breezy nuance and around the beach there are cluster of small islands. Famous for its beauty makes the visitors who come to the Gandoriah beach getting linger to enjoy the beauty of the beach while enjoying snacks that sold by the stalls around the beach. There is one of local foods that sell around the beach, named Sala and other seafood like roasted fish, clams and fritters.
